Reflections

The past week has been exciting: finished the book, had an awesome weekend, and made lots of progress in life and business. So much as accomplished in Oct, and I can't wait for Nov so I can move even closer to my ultimate goal of freedom.

The book was great, it reflected so much as to what I've been through. Now I'm more confident to face these challenges of life. I particularly liked the last chapter, which talked about "Rest." Often time I will work hard toward a goal and thinking that resting will only slow me down. Again and again I end up burning out and losing the motivation all together. It had happened from time to time. After reading the chapter I realize that it's OK to have a break, especially when I'm close to burning out. It's good to take a break from it all, and just sit back and reflect a bit. By slowing down and stepping back, I can see the big picture and reflect on the work I've done. This helps me to know effectively what the next step should be, and where my focus should be.

I have a lot to accomplish in the next few months, and I can't wait to apply these great principles and getting the results I want. It's going to be exciting!

Quote of the day.

"No matter how busy you may think you are, you must find time for reading, or surrender yourself to self chosen ignorance. - Confucius"

Delicious Food, Amazing Vocal, Wonderful Time.

I had a wonderful night of great food and beautiful music with Claire and Kenny. We had dinner at Joya, a Latin cuisine restaurant on University Ave. The place has the most amazing Paella Clasica and Argentinean-style Hanger Steak! It has become one of my favorite restaurant. Afterward we went to the San Pedro Theater in downtown San Jose and watched a great Jazz performance by Kim Nelly. She has amazing voice! There was also an 14 yrs old who sang with her, and again beautiful voice. It was a night of good food, beautiful music, and great company. Couldn't ask for a better Saturday evening.

It was a reward evening, after a week of hard work. I've been driving up and down between Doublin and South San Jose meeting and helping people, and really focused on achieving the goals for this month. It was nice to take the night off and enjoy spending time with friends and family, and to feel that I deserved it. I know all I need is to put the hammer down and yet again "win" the upcoming week, as Allan F. had put it. I win one day at a time, one week at a time, and one month at a time. After winning 12 months, I will accomplish one of my dreams, and that's the moment I will be waiting for. It'll be a sweet victory for myself and those who believed in me. It's a testimony to see how changing the small things like reading book, listening to CD, and writing in journal, can help me achieve more in 1 week than I did in the past 6 months! I can only believe that amazing results will come in the next 6 months. I can't wait! It's going to be simply AMAZING!

Quote of the day.

" The Immature mind hops from one thing to another; the mature mind seeks to follow through. - Harry A. Overstreet."

The 7 R's

"Fuel: The Energy You Need to Succeed" by Wes Beavis is the book I'm reading now, and I'm just about half way done. It's been awhile since I had been this on track with my reading, and boy it sure made a difference.

In the intro of the book, the author mentioned the 7 R's. They are simply 7 words that begin with the letter R: Recommitment, Reading, Resources, Realizations, Relationships, Results, Rest. These are the 7 factors that can help us in our journey to our goals.

~ "For everyday the mental fuel that keeps us moving forward is being constantly depleted as we push through the challenging forces standing between us and our goals. - Wes Beavis" ~

If we really pay attention in our day to day life, we all have a mental checklist of tasks that need to be done. And it's rare that we completed 100% of that checklist, at least for me. While reading the book I realize that it's because we run low on these "mental fuel" throughout the day! We either get distracted or get discouraged, and always leave out a few items untouched.

Now if we look at the big pictures of life, where instead of 24 hrs, we need 24 days, or weeks, or months, or even years, to achieve our goals. If we can't even last for a day, how will we be able to endure the weeks, the months, and the years!

That's why it's so important that we refuel ourselves constantly, and it takes daily recommitment to our dreams and goals. It's vital that we remind ourselves daily why we do what we do, and what we want to achieve. And reading is an important aspect of refueling ourselves mentally. Having the resources and realizing what it takes, and having those relationship with whom that can help us, is the key to having the results we desire. And always rest to prevent burnout, and to reward ourselves for the smaller accomplishment of stepping stones that ultimately leads us to achieve our dreams and goals.

Welcome to a Lifetime of Advantures.

For the longest time, I didn't understand the meaning of having a blog. In fact I didn't understand why people "Blog." I used to say "Why would anyone want to talk about their lives on the internet? I don't want people to know about me and my life." I thought it takes too much time, and blah de dah ...

Something changed however, I started reading again.

Through reading, I came across so many great principles of achieving a great life, and I felt a strong urge to share them. I realize that there are people out there just like me, who can benefit from these life long principles and teachings, and to truly live life to the fulliest.

So here I am, "blogging" for a change, because I have the desire to share, to not be selfish, to want to help others improve their lives. One day this blog will influence someone, add value to his or her life, and inspire him or her to greatness, and that my friend will make one of my dreams come true.

So, the journey begins.
